This Executive Edition of Pennsylvania-class ships from COBI offers two options for building a historic battleship! Thanks to the included additional bricks with individual markings and elements you can choose to build the USS Pennsylvania or USS Arizona. Clear and intuitive instructions will easily guide you through the construction process. Designed in 1:300 scale 61.5 cm (24”) long, the more than 2,000 bricks will provide hours of pleasurable construction.
Thanks to the use of the latest advanced construction techniques, the model faithfully reflects the proportions of the historic ships and retains all essential elements, including the original, very characteristic shape of the hull and superstructure. The model has numerous moving parts including propellers, rudders, rotating towers, and gun barrels that can be raised and lowered. The USS Pennsylvania and USS Arizona were two battleships launched during the Great War. During their service, the ships underwent modernization. Both Pennsylvania-class ships were present at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. While the USS Arizona tragically sank with a significant loss of life, the USS Pennsylvania was only slightly damaged and served throughout the Pacific during WWII. In 1962, the USS Arizona memorial on the wreckage was opened, while the Pennsylvania was eventually used for US nuclear target tests in 1946.
